20 YEARS AGO… LLAPAKU WAS BORN

November 1990-November 2010

Our music band is called LLAPAKU in reference to the fundamental role played by music in linking man to nature. In our show, we introduce the audience to the Andean countries of Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador through various cultural and artistic aspects.

Our band was born in November 1990, when we recorded our first CD with native musicians both from the country and the cities.

Since then, we’ve continued our artistic work, aiming at showing the Andean culture through its many features. During our shows, we give a glimpse of different traditional instruments and rhythms typical of the Andean regions of Bolivia and Ecuador. Moreover, in our last recordings, we interpret personal compositions which are traditional-rhythm based with modern and contemporary touches, always having in mind the harmony between wind and string instruments.
